Recycle 4 Change at Geelong Golf Club is changing lives and the environment 

Geelong Golf Club is making strides in environmental sustainability and community support through its partnership with Recycle 4 Change. Led by Venue Manager and PGA Professional Paul Christie, the club is leveraging Victoria’s Container Deposit Scheme (CDS) to raise funds for the Belgravia Foundation. 

Through this initiative, members and guests are not only contributing to environmental conservation but also supporting programs and initiatives held at the club. 
 
“From where Geelong Golf Club sits, it is one of easiest ways to make a difference from an environmental perspective and raise money for programs and initiatives we conduct here at the Club with the support of Belgravia Foundation,” said Paul.
 
Recycle 4 Change operates the Victorian State Government’s Container Deposit Scheme, covering the region from Geelong to Laverton North in Melbourne’s west. 

Providing opportunities for those impacted by the justice system through holistic employment and training programs Recycle 4 Change works towards enhancing self-worth, facilitate reconnections with family and the successful reintegration into society for its employees. 
 
As part of the partnership, Geelong Golf Club will have on site Recycle 4 Change’s 240-litre bins, encouraging community members to deposit their empty drink containers. Once these bins are full, the Club notifies Recycle 4 Change for pickup and processing. 
 
“Each full bin can contain approximately 320 containers,” continued Paul. “This is around $32 per bin for Belgravia Foundation in funds raised. So not only are we fundraising for programs close to the heart of our members and guests, but we are also promoting environmental responsibility and community engagement. 
 
“This partnership is great environmentally and for the community,” said Paul. “By encouraging recycling at Geelong Golf Club, we’re not only contributing to a greener future but also making a difference in people’s lives.”
